My public-information work includes authorship of Howell Township’s 2025 “No Worries, We’re Howell Ready” National Preparedness Month and hurricane preparedness campaigns, plus communications, public education and recruitment support in volunteer public safety.
The challenge
Volunteer public-safety organizations need to communicate consistently with residents while also reaching prospective members, supporting internal engagement and explaining the value of volunteer service. Messaging must be timely, accurate, accessible and consistent with agency leadership.
Approach
Communications work can include editorial planning, social-media content development, public education concepts, recruitment campaigns, member features and event coverage. Content is designed to explain services and opportunities without compromising patient privacy, operational security or agency approval processes.
Outputs and status
Résumé-listed examples include the two 2025 Howell Township preparedness campaigns, prevention and education work at 2025 National Night Out, and ongoing official communications and social-media contributions for Howell Township First Aid & Rescue Squad #1. In the squad, I also serve as Cadet Advisor and program leader; my résumé reports contributing to growth from 4 cadets to more than 58. This is a reported membership figure, not an independently audited performance metric.
Role and boundaries
My public-information contributions are made within assigned volunteer and organizational roles. Volunteer work is not represented as a paid contract, and final agency approval and release authority remain with the organization.
